it feels like a reaally long time since my fingers have had a stretch, so this is prolly going to be a long entry, but then again, my entries have always been long.
i didn't go out with the bp gang for jalan raya today. azra said to meet at 8.30 am at woodlands mrt. i woke up at 9. muahaha. hafizah even sms-ed me asking whether i was coming.
so instead i went out with the parents and the sister to some high-tea held at sheraton towers organized by ustadz ahmad dahri and his society or what-have-you. high-tea. *snorts* the parents tricked me. i thought it was just some get-together/lunch held at some community centre or summat. i have a problem with high-teas. firstly, it's the word 'high', which just sounds so snobbish and high and mighty. secondly, i don't like teas! okay, okay, i KNOW they don't serve teas at high-teas, but i'm just saying, you know, i don't like the name. and if i don't like the name, no go.
and of course, being the sweet simple person that i am *puke*, i do not feel comfortable in formal settings. people who know me should know that i have this uncanny ability to cause accidents with my supreme clumsiness, plus the fact that i have fidgety hands and feet.
so it started pretty badly, with me snickering at the polished silvers, the fake smiles, the too-much-makeup-caked-on faces, the baju-baju pengantins, the too-long speeches lengthened further by too-slow drawls. all until adi rahman came onstage. wah, he's such a funnyman i tell you. i was laughing so hard at his jokes, and then his blunder of making fun of ustadz's son without realizing it is ustadz's son.
and yassin, the singer, even came to sing three songs! so all in all, it wasn't too bad lah. saved by a good emcee and a singer i guess. but i still don't like formal settings though. ugh! makes me choke with the overwhelming high-class pretentiousness i tell you.
oh ya, on thursday, i performed a malay dance at the ang mo kio police division headquarters. my eyes feasted well. =) me and shaheeda had just stepped into the gates when this extremely flirty but nevertheless cute policeman flirted with us. haha. desperate i guess.
policeman: hah, kak, kak, kalau nak masuk, kena kasik i/c dulu. exchange untuk visitor's pass. Ni datang ni nak buat apa ni? [smiles stupidly]
me: [inside] eh, aku ni lebih muda, dia ada hati nak panggil aku kakak? aku datang nak bomb police station ni!
[outside] oh, datang nak dance.
policeman: dance? asal tak bilang saya awal-awal. saya nak tengok lah kakak dance. nak tengok boleh.
me: [with a 'what-are-you-stupid?' look on my face] nak tengok, tengok lah!!!
[inside] bengap sungguh policeman ni. nak datang buat apa nak mintak permission?
oh, we met some really gentlemanly guys there too, although, i am not interested. i repeat: NOT interested. afterwards, me and muni went off to bugis to shop for stuffs. quite fun la. we talked about LOADS of things - matters of the heart mostly. then i was off to aisyah's house in woodlands! yayness!! i realllly miss aisyah. and her brothers and her mum too! her mum is ultra nice i tell you. and her brother im-im [imran] is so big already! he's already seven and apparently, very big for his age. haha, the last time i saw him, he was still dancing around in his diapers looking like that toyol from ally mcbeal. and he now has a younger brother too who's five this year. the last time i DIDN'T see this brother, he was still in his mummy's womb. muahaha. okay, joke yang tak sungguh kelakar.
friday, i slacked and slacked and slacked at home. what did i do? you guessed it. watched lord of the rings AGAIN on the comp. [geez, how many times have i watched it? a million and one?]
aaah... finally. my fingers feel stretched. okie dokie. see ya!
