more module-hunting drama
just a few days back, i was grousing and feeling grouchy about having been outbidded for my SC2205 (sociology of family) in round 2B. and so at the very last minute of round 3A i managed to find a module which fits into my timetable, and bid successfully for EL1101 (The Nature of Language). and hence, my 5 modules for this semester were supposed to be:
LSM1103 (Biodiversity)
ST1232 (Statistics)
LSM1202 (Human Anatomy - i get to cut a cadaver -dead body-!!!)
EL1101
SC2206 (Sociology of Culture and Society)
yesyes i know. last sem, i took SC2210, and hence many people have asked me whether i wanna minor in sociology (since i seem to love taking soci modules). i would love to, but life science majors can't minor in sociology. what a pity huh? i love soci.
anyway, back to the drama. i had a 10am SC2206 lecture today. so went to school early, went to ivle to print notes but found none in the workbin. so i dozed off, woke up at 10am, went to the lecture, and got a shock. the professor who was supposed to take this module passed away yesterday. and hence the module has been scrapped. such a shock huh? who'd have guessed this sort of things do happen? i really sympathise with the late professor's family..
..and hence another round of module-hunting.
maybe it was a blessing in disguise, cos they opened up 50 more seats for SC2205 - the one i got outbidded for. so i'm praying that i'll get it since it fits nicely into my timetable. i've sent an email that hopefully will garner enough sympathy from the soci department to let me take this module cos as a poor science student with two lab sessions, i have very limited choices.
ok, non-NUS students will probably not get what i'm talking about. s'ok, just re-read and maybe you'll understand the whole complicated bidding process. hehehehe.. cubalah korang. guarantee confirm chop chilli chop tak paham.
anyway i'm all excited cos tomorrow (hopefully) i'll get introduced to my cadaver! med and nursing students have warned me that the smell is very strong.. ohh! i just hope i won't faint tomorrow. tak game la macam ni!
anyway maymay, i shall help you stand up should you faint k? hahaha..
