i just knew it...
assalaamu'alaikum..
wokay, i just need to blog this down. you know why? today, the worst thing that can happen in a laboratory happened to me.. of all people, why am i not surprised? =p haha. no, i did not turn into the green hulk due to a freak accident and neither did i morph into spiderman, thank God! buttt... i BURNT my face!! wahhhh... gua mau nangis wor.... i never thought this thing could happen to ME! but yeah, ini semua ketentuan Allah..
you wanna know how it happened? (of course you'd want to know).
it was my FIRST lab session for LSM1102 seh.. first lab dah kena ni. haha. belo betol.
anyway, yeah, we were trying to extract the DNA of e.coli so we needed to use phenol ah. yeah, and today i found out the hard way that phenol burns. cos my friend was passing by my bench carrying her micropipette with some phenol still at its tip. and when she accidentally flicked it, it hit my face. at first, i thought there was nothing ah. then i felt it. it was burning sehhh.
my lab partner said there was a white spot on my face. i thought okay... but then it quickly turned to red. my DA alerted the lab staff and they immediately asked me to wash it off. before long, so many of the lab assistants were crowding around me at the sink, and they all had this worried "HUH? phenol on the face?? aiyoyoyo.." and i started thinking, oh dear, this might be bad after all. yeah, so it turned out it burnt my skin. but it's not too bad.
it could have been worse. i have so much to be thankful to God for. the fact that it missed my eyes. the fact that it didn't turn out to be any serious-enuff-to-be-hospitalised case. the fact that i'm still alive here blogging about what happened. alhamdulillah... =)
