"ouch, said the idiot who burnt her fingers while eating crabs."
that was my msn nick for today. that WAS what happened today. i guess when it comes to hurting myself, i have only my greed to blame.
the mum cooked black pepper crab today, after almost a month of not cooking that absolute favourite dish of mine [other than fried rice, mee bandung, mee hong kong, grilled fish, to name a few]. and boy, the smell was goooood.
the mum said, eat the crabs with rice! i nodded my head. but it was near maghrib and there was no way i could have finished eating a crab with rice within five minutes given my award-winning slow eating pace. the mum went into the bathroom. i immediately sketched out a rough plan on how to pinch a small piece of crab. ooh... getting to see those pieces of glistening red-hot crabs bathed in a pool of peppery sauce would be like getting a sneak preview to the greatest movie ever made - a premiere even!
"krok..krok..krok..." went my brain/tummy. [i was thinking, and my tummy was rumbling, see?]
oh, just lift the damn lid and snitch a small piece you stupid! that was my unreliable brain speaking. so i naturally obeyed. i fished out a considerably large piece of crab, and held it with my fingers. two seconds later, my brain was sensing something weird. oh! my fingers! hoooootttt!!!!
the body asked, what to do?[my body and my brain have a long-standing history of not being able to coordinate with one another]. five seconds later, message from the brain: drop it you fool!
of course i didn't drop it. i switched the crab over to my other hand, hence making the fingers from both hands burnt. aahhh... greed WILL get you somewhere. it got me a satisfied tummy. what my finger sorely suffered for food, my tongue makes up for in taste. yum yum!
see what staying at home the whole day made me become? more creative. muahahaha.
PS: i watched 'the sound of music' again today on vcd. i luuuurrrvvveee the dresses worn at that time. so chic!
