here comes the rain

yesterday was essentially my let's-do-nothing-and-have-fun day! i spent the first half at home scrubbing on the furniture in my room and marvelling at the amount of dust that can collect on the top of the cupboard in one year. it was soooo habuk-licious i started coughing and sneezing like a person stuck with the worst flu virus ever.

the second half was spent at ppis [forgot what the abbreviation stands for] where i helped out with iftar for the singapore muslim hadicap association. it was a fun day, considering the fact that i know no one there except for nurul farhana [this fana is my madrasah friend, NOT the fana ammacacapurut]. the people there were hilarious. take, for example, the 'host' of the event, "saya mempersembahkan ustaz.. er.. alamak, apa nama ustaznya? lupa ah." and many more such kelakar kentot incidents la. suffice to say, i think it was a very well spent evening cos we really helped out a lot with the cleaning up afterwards.

finished cleaning around 9.30pm and decided to go to geylang serai with the gang from singapore poly [ada dua orang tersesat in that group - one from temasek poly, and another makcik kepoh from ajc]. oh, super bad idea. but you know what they say. you learn from the hard way.

PRECIOUS LESSON NUMERO UN: it's really not a good idea to go round half of singapore, despite its small size, pottering about in 8.5cm-high heels. itu buang tebiat namanya. although the plus side was that instead of being my usual 1.58-m tall self, i was for once, over the 1.6m boundary and was 166.5cm-tall yesterday night. ceh! boleh cayer ah cik suli. BUT, the minus-minus-minus point was the ankle-breaking amount of pain that i had to endure. luckily i boleh tahan la cos i'm quite *ahem* experienced with wearing heels, so i didn't hafta hobble around looking like a pathetic pak mat tempeh.

PRECIOUS LESSON NUMERO DEUX: i should never, ever, ever, ever, attempt to understand why people would risk suffocation and infection from mingling with other sweaty bodies and go to geylang at THIS time of the year. wah-kau. hot gilerrrrrr, packed gilerrrrr = suliyati also becomes gilerrrrr. there were even some places that were too packed that people just stopped moving, so my muka just went cramped the whole way we were walking. i hate, hate, hate hot crowded places. remind me again next year ok, lest i decide to do the let's-understand-why-people-wanna-go-geylang thingy again. oh wait. next year, geylang no more... awww sob sob. *squeezes out giant crocodile tears*

PRECIOUS LESSON NUMERO TROIS: even harmless looking makciks can turn highly dangerous when you're stuck in a hot, hot situation like in geylang at night. i accidentally bumped into this makcik while i was trying to gostan my way out of this place so i turned to apologize and she shot me this murderous look fit for a horror movie. waaah, scary gilerrrr.

oh, that's about all the lessons we'll have for today, kids! after that, we ate ice-cream at the barang barang place [hahahaha. don't ask me]. it's a really good place to sit down cos... there will be people line dancing there and the music's so cute and feel-good, kinda like the oldies you'd find that your grandma might be able to name. speaking of music, i think i should be born in the early twentieth century cos i like the music then better than now! serious. i can sit still and watch 'sound of music' over and over and still not get jelak of it, i love the beatles and all of their hippy-inspired sounds, but try taking me to a rock gig and i can fall asleep there, even with all the LOUD music blasting in my ears.

pretty fun day, but super tiring. got home, showered, prayed, and slept like a baby.

and woke up to super rock-hard calf muscles. ouch.

oh, it seems to be raining with a vengeance the whole of today. went to madrasah, used an umbrella, but really, it was of no use the bottom half of my body got soaked completely. i mean, i was just sitting in my chair doing the exam and water was just dripping from my jubah and trousers and forming a little puddle under my chair. eeeeeh.. look like urine. hahahahaha. disgusting! and the air-con was aimed full-blast at my feet that i was so sure i was gonna die of pneumonia. had to keep on checking my two poor feet to make sure they were not frost-bitten or anything.

k, i'm to lazy to type anymore. berjela-jela sungguh my entry this time! k, bedah wants to ciao.
